I have decades of commercial litigation experience in New York and around the country. I am a nationally recognized adviser to financial services, energy, technology and pharma companies,. I am known for efficient, creative and early dispute resolution, but I am a fourth generation trial lawyer and will go to court when needed. The National Institute of Trial Advocacy invited me to teach trial skills at its flagship national program in Boulder, Colorado seven times.
Although primarily a litigator and trial lawyer, I am also nationally recognized in eDiscovery, Chambers consistently rates me in Band One for eDiscovery nationally, and reports that I am “‘clearly a leader in the field’ of e-discovery” and “an experienced litigator who is commended as a ‘strong defender of corporate interests and corporate rights in the area of e-discovery.’” Acritas awarded me its Stand-out Talent Star in 2019 and said of me: "A very high level of expertise, extremely trustworthy, and he has exceptional competence in electronic discovery."
I am President of the non-profit Electronic Discovery Institute, a retired member of the Advisory Board of the Georgetown Law Advanced Institute for eDiscovery, and a former member of the Bloomberg Law Litigation Innovation Advisory Board.
A sample of representative experience includes:
• Currently (and continuously since 2004) eDiscovery counsel for a global corporation
• Lead jury trial counsel for global telecom company in high exposure breach of contract case; settled on favorable terms on eve of trial
• National defense of a prominent consumer goods manufacturer in over 50 statewide consumer fraud class actions currently before an MDL court; negotiated extremely favorable zero dollar settlement
